When we built the first Showcase of Homes web site back in 1995, the web designer told me there were certain types of information that he felt the public would like to see (it was merely his “guess,” as the internet was so new no one really knew…) – floor plans and pricing, property data for resale homes, maybe new home info, community info, etc., and he said he thought it would be “nice” to have an “About Me” page, and I thought that was funny! When I finally stopped laughing, I asked him why. He told me the first home he ever bought was from a “knowledgeable enough” REALTOR, but he never really “connected” with the guy, and was overall a lousy experience. He said next time he would find out something about the REALTOR before he spent two weeks with him looking for a house, and he thought other people might want to do the same. Well guess what? Your reading this proves his point! Right! Twelve years after putting an “About ME” page on my first web site, over 90% of my past clients said they read my “About Me” page, and decided they thought we would “get along” just fine!

A “true-blue-dyed-in-the-wool” Texan, born in Dallas, Texas, many years ago, and have lived out of the state for only a couple of years (’63-67) when Dad was transferred to Roswell, N.M. Played high school sports (All-State baseball and football), and received numerous athletic scholarship offers, eventually narrowing those choices to a Senatorial Appointment w/football scholarship to the U.S Naval Academy, or a baseball scholarship to Texas A&M University. Because of the on-going Vietnam War at the time (1967), and the fact I could stay in Texas, I chose baseball! I played the game alongside several subsequent Major League players before getting married in 1972 and settling in to family life, and now have a daughter and four boys (all VERY good baseball players!), and seven grandkids (so far…) from my three oldest children. My next oldest son, Ryan, is currently attending the University of Texas/San Antonio on a baseball scholarship, and my youngest son, Rhett, is an 8th grader this year.
From 1974 to 1984 I owned/operated a retail store and five restaurants in west Texas (I am a VERY good cook!). In 1984, I moved to Austin, spent a week with a real estate Broker looking for restaurant sites, decided I liked his job a lot better than mine, got my real estate license, and went to work for him as an agent. In 1986, I obtained my Broker’s license, and that same year opened my first RE company called Southwest Prime Investments, selling mostly commercial properties. In 1989, I started my second company, Showcase of Homes for residential sales, hired eight Brokers, and decided to office in a Mall - Barton Creek Square – something that had never before been done in Austin, and it was quite a success, attracting hundreds of potential home buyers and sellers every day. As you can see from the press release, I was doing “virtual tours” YEARS before they became a mainstay on all REALTOR web sites! Today, I use the Internet as my “Mall”, and my office is located at 2307 W. Parmer Lane in North Austin. I have sold millions and millions of dollars worth of property (both residential and commercial) and received numerous award achievements during these twenty-plus years, and am well qualified to handle any real estate related transaction. My clients include U.S. Olympic athletes, professional athletes, movie stars, corporate presidents, and executives from some of Austin’s and the Nation’s most prestigious corporations.
I do have a life outside of real estate, as you’ll note from the pictures on this page. In my “spare” time, I coach youth baseball (2005 State champions and 3-time National Qualifier), play golf (8 handicap), coach youth football (Pop Warner), play golf, coach youth basketball (8 consecutive year League champions), play golf, and occasionally go snow skiing (only black diamonds!). I love coaching the kids (been doing it for 30 years!) almost as much as I love helping families buy and sell their homes! My wife, Jane, has been in the insurance business for over 30 years, and has her own very successful State Farm Insurance Agency.
